THE TASMAN HOTEL HOBART

Marriott International's first “The Luxury Collection” hotel in Australia and the Pacific, The Tasman, made its long-awaited luxurious opening in Hobart in December 2021.

Situated within an integrated collection of heritage buildings, The Tasman Hotel Hobart, designed by Architect FJMT with heritage advice from Design 5, blends contemporary architectural elements with its historically rich characters. The emblem is dedicatedly created by Y–M–D Years Months Days to represent the uniqueness of the place, as well as the history, culture, location and craft that it ties together.

After five years in the planning, Micio is thrilled to be engaged in this fantastic journey with an incredible team to bring to life a one-of-a-kind destination in Tasmania, Australia. Battling lockdowns and restrictions to travel interstate, our team carved out our role in this project through design development (Industrial Design) and the implementation of the signage package and architectural façade branding. Working with Y–M–D (Years Months Days) and Jordan Rowe again on their design, we enjoyed every bit of workshopping materials and finishes, design-developing and implementing 2D design to the physical space.
