PARLIAMENT SQUARE HOBART

Parliament Square in Hobart, Tasmania, completed an astonishing redevelopment in late 2021 by Citta Property Group. The redevelopment features a new office building, retail, car parking spaces, restaurants and The Tasman Hotel, Marriott International’s first “The Luxury Collection” hotel in Australia and the Pacific.

Micio is thrilled to be engaged by Citta Property Group to deliver the wayfinding and signage as part of the precinct redevelopment. Our role during the project was the design development (Industrial Design) and implementation of the signage pack designed by Y–M–D (Years Months Days) and Jordan Rowe, including wayfinding, statutory and heritage signage. The journey was rewarding as we non-stop workshopped, explored and tested materials, workability of all components and finishes to achieve the most sustainable and efficient way of implementing the designs in the physical space.

Designed by Architects FJMT in consultation with heritage architecture firm Design 5, the Parliament Square precinct is now one of the finest architectural examples and a new landmark destination in Hobart CBD.
