WGTP VISITOR INFO CENTRE

The West Gate Tunnel is one of Victoria's most significant projects. Micio was recommended and engaged By CPB Contractors and John Holland (CPBJH JV) to complete the design and implementation of the new multi-million-dollar Information Centre.

Our initial brief with the client outlined their need to urgently design, source, manufacture and deliver a complete solution for the West Gate Tunnel Information Centre. Micio outlined a 6-week programme and engaged all stakeholders to ensure expectations were tabled, solidified and met.

The brief covered creating a strategic space for the public to raise concerns, provide feedback and receive information about the project and how to apply for contracts and jobs. Critical criteria within the brief outlined high-quality project information to be presented via audio visual and static displays, which detailed elements of interest, including vital technological systems and new materials.

Our design encompassed a nine-screen audio-visual hero wall with an interactive bike that utilised Virtual Reality for communicating project features and information. We bolstered this centrepiece with customised joinery, branding, floor graphics, new cladding and super graphics to ensure the users' journey was cohesive and informative.

The final design solution was outstanding, delivered on time and within budget for one of Australia's most significant infrastructure projects.
